Workplace Experience Program

Melbourne

Open a real working environment where students can build professional experience through the day-to-day work of your business.

If your business can offer clearly defined workplace activities over an agreed period, Kangaroo Education can help structure the program, recruit students, and complete initial screening and matching against your requirements.

During the agreed period, students take part in day-to-day operations, project collaboration or role-related activities. Your business defines the activities, schedule and internal contact person, and provides the practical briefing and feedback needed for the experience.

Kangaroo Education supports

  • Structuring the activities and participation requirements;
  • Recruiting and initially screening suitable students;
  • Managing preliminary communication between students and the business;
  • Coordinating essential matters before and during the program.

Your business provides

  • Genuine activities that students can meaningfully participate in;
  • A clear program duration and schedule;
  • An internal contact person;
  • The necessary briefing, guidance and feedback.

How the partnership works

01

Confirm the practical activities

Understand the working environment, practical tasks and participation requirements your business can offer.

02

Structure the program

Agree on the duration, schedule, student requirements and responsibilities of both parties.

03

Recruit and screen students

Open applications against the program requirements and complete initial screening.

04

Begin workplace experience

After matching and preparation, the student enters the business and takes part in the agreed activities.

Workplace experience is centred on professional learning and building experience. Businesses are not expected to retain students after the program. If a future staffing need arises, the business may independently decide whether to continue discussions based on the student's performance, its own needs and mutual interest.

Employment Opportunities

Melbourne and other parts of Victoria

Start with a genuine vacancy and spend less time reviewing unsuitable applications.

If your business or organisation has a genuine vacancy in Melbourne or another part of Victoria, Kangaroo Education can reach and initially screen candidates against the role’s qualifications, professional background, work capability and specific requirements.

We learn about each applicant through a video meeting and, after obtaining informed consent, provide shortlisted candidate information and relevant interview content to the employer. The employer retains final authority over subsequent interviews, hiring, remuneration and employment conditions.

Candidate recruitment is opened only in response to genuine roles supplied by a business or organisation. Available locations, industries and role types are determined by the hiring needs confirmed between both parties.

Kangaroo Education supports

  • Understanding the role, location and candidate requirements;
  • Reaching applicants who are interested in the role and meet its basic requirements;
  • Conducting video interviews and initial screening;
  • Presenting candidates who meet the basic requirements;
  • Helping coordinate the employer’s next recruitment steps with shortlisted candidates.

Your business or organisation provides

  • A genuine, clearly defined and current vacancy;
  • Role responsibilities, qualification requirements and work location;
  • The employment arrangement, work schedule and core conditions;
  • Subsequent interview, hiring and onboarding decisions.

How the partnership works

01

Confirm the genuine vacancy

Understand the role, location, qualification requirements and employment conditions.

02

Open candidate applications

Reach applicants in the relevant profession who are interested in the specific role.

03

Video interview and screening

Assess background, capability, communication and suitability for the role.

04

Submit candidates

With each applicant's authorisation, provide shortlisted application information to the employer.

05

Employer interview and decision

The employer manages the next steps and makes the final hiring decision.

06

Offer and onboarding coordination

After a candidate accepts an offer, coordinate the confirmation and onboarding steps according to the employer’s arrangements.

Kangaroo Education manages initial outreach, screening and connection, but cannot guarantee that a suitable candidate will be found. Final interviews, hiring, remuneration and employment conditions are determined by the employer.

Employer FAQs

01 Are businesses required to employ students after a workplace experience program?

No. The purpose of workplace experience is to give students genuine professional learning and participation. After the program, a business may decide independently whether to continue discussions based on its staffing needs, the student's performance and mutual interest.

02 What must a business provide for a workplace experience program?

The business must provide genuine, clearly defined activities that a student can meaningfully participate in, together with an agreed duration, schedule and internal contact person. Appropriate work instructions and basic feedback are also required during the program.

03 How does Kangaroo Education screen candidates for employment roles?

We assess applicants against the role requirements, including professional background, relevant qualifications, work capability, communication and suitability for the role. We conduct an initial video interview before presenting candidates who meet the basic requirements to the employer.

04 Can you guarantee that a suitable candidate will be found?

No. Kangaroo Education expands candidate reach and completes initial screening, but the availability of suitable applicants and the final hiring decision depend on the role conditions, the candidates and the employer.

05 How is consent obtained for candidate information and video interviews?

Candidate information and video content are used for a relevant role assessment and shared with the corresponding employer only after the candidate has given informed consent. Nothing may be recorded, submitted or used for another purpose without authorisation.
